Billionaire Gautam Adani is, for now, not among the three wealthiest individuals in the world, as he slipped to the fourth spot on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, a daily ranking of the world’s richest people.

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is the now the third wealthiest person, while the top two of Bernard Arnault (Louis Vitton) and Elon Musk (Tesla, SpaceX, Twitter) remained unchanged on January 24. Reliance Group chairman Mukesh Ambani, too, slipped, going down by a spot, and his current net worth is the twelfth highest in the world.

Adani, on the other hand, saw his net worth decline by $872 million in the last 24 hours, and he has lost $683 million since January 24, 2022; the corresponding figures for Ambani are $457 million and $2.38 billion, respectively. However, they continue to be the two richest Asians.

Bloomberg Billionaires Index

The index prepares daily rankings of the 500 wealthiest people and is published by Bloomberg News. First published in March 2012, the index measured only the 20 richest people, and then expanded to 100, 200, 300, 400, and finally, in October 2016, to the current format.

The figures are updated at the close of every trading day in New York.
