Madhya Pradesh has enough land for industries, and businesses can mark a location on a map and the government will allocate land within 24 hours, chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan made a pitch at the opening session of the two-day Madhya Pradesh Global Investors Summit on Wednesday in Indore.

The 7th edition of ‘Invest Madhya Pradesh’ brought together stakeholders from India and abroad to discuss investment opportunities.

Chouhan said there is no scarcity of land, electricity, or water in the state. “We have enough land for industries. Businesses can mark a location on a map, and we will allocate land within 24 hours… We built dams to capture water energy. Even the Delhi Metro runs on electricity generated by the Rewa solar power plant,” he said.

Only one of the two can stay in Madhya Pradesh: dacoits or Shivraj

“MP is a peaceful land. When we formed the government, we made it clear that only dacoits or Shivraj Singh would be allowed to live here. Dacoits were eliminated in a year of government formation,” the chief minister said, claiming that the era of terror in Chambal’s ravines is over.

Chouhan added, “The state government is committed to the progress of the state and is always ready to provide all possible cooperation to industrialists and investors.”

“A prosperous, glorious, powerful and self-reliant India is being built under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We are making a self-reliant Madhya Pradesh for a self-reliant India,” Chouhan said.

PM inaugurated the event

Inaugurating the session virtually, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “We are all working together to create a developed India. India’s desire to become a developed nation is shared by all Indians, not just us. Since 2014, India has pursued reforms, transformation, and performance.”

“The CEO of Mackenzie has said that this is not only India’s decade but India’s century. Institutions and credible voices that track the global economy have unprecedented confidence in India,” PM added, highlighting India’s economic growth.

The inaugural session was attended by President of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana Dr Mohamed Irfaan Ali, President of the Republic of Suriname Chandrikapersad Santokhi, and Chouhan, among others. Business leaders from Aditya Birla, Tata, Bajaj, Piramal, Godrej, Lulu Group, Dalmia Bharat, JK Tyres, Reliance, Adani, and JSW were among those who spoke at the event.
